And glad and happy for HASSELBLAD for this bold move after some shaky times in the last two years. Some weeks later I got the chance to hold the X1D in my hands–boy, what an amazing camera! The X1D is very much a ‘raw’ camera. The JPEGs it saves are just one-quarter size, and designed for quick reference or sharing, not for final use. Instead, you use Hasselblad’s own Phocus 81%. Hasselblad X1D Resolution I made several comparative tests with my D810 with portraits and outside scenes. In taking the same shots with both the D810 and the X1D, I was surprised how well the 36 megapixel D810 held its own against the 50 megapixel X1D. I might even dare say that the D810 won slightly in sharpness and contrast over the X1D. Not long after Hasselblad announced the X1D, Fuji followed up with an announcement of their own long-rumored mirrorless medium format, the GFX. As a happy owner of several Fuji cameras, I was eager I was fortunate enough to shoot with the Hasselblad X1D II 50C for about two weeks this month.

If you find that refreshing, rather than frustrating, then you will adore this camera and what it can do.

6 Feb 2021 Thankfully, the Hasselblad X1D II 50C arrived for review, along with approval from the studio heads for socially-distanced, outdoor shoots.

By Thomas Ludwig. When HASSELBLAD presented the X1D medium format mirrorless camera in 2016, I was very impressed. And glad and happy for HASSELBLAD for this bold move after some shaky times in the last two years. Some weeks later I got the chance to hold the X1D in my hands–boy, what an amazing camera! This is a short review of the 65mm 2.8 Hasselblad XCD lens.
